Do you know? When was the first time a robot killed a human? You might not believe it after knowing the year

“The world and humans will someday be taken over by artificial intelligence and robots.” So far, so many films, novels and stories have been made on this apprehension. Many scientists have also said that the conflict between technology and humans is inevitable. Technology continues to develop, robots are playing the roles of servants, masseurs, even partners and much more. But have robots ever attacked humans? If so, then when? According to a report, this happened, once a robot even killed a human being.

Yes, this is true, according to a report by IFLScience, the first time a robot killed a person was 45 years ago in 1979. According to records, Robert Williams was the first person to be killed by a robot. This incident happened in America. 25-year-old Robert worked at the casting plant of Ford Motor Company in Flat Rock, Michigan.

On the day of the incident, he was working with a parts-retrieval system that moved materials from one part of the factory to another, according to legal documents. Williams climbed to the third floor of a shelving unit to check on the machine to see what was wrong. Then the mechanical arm “struck him from behind and crushed him.”

Reports suggest that his family sued the machine’s manufacturer, Litton Industries, in 1983 for the horrific accident. They argued that despite the robotic arm moving with a lot of force, no adequate safety devices were installed. They were awarded around Rs 84 crore as compensation, which was increased to Rs 1.26 billion in 1984.

A similar incident occurred in Japan two years later in 1981, when Kenji Urada, a 37-year-old employee at the Kawasaki Heavy Industries plant in Akashi, was killed by a mechanical arm while he was inspecting a faulty robot.
