Doctors sat on a symbolic mass fast in IMA in support of the doctors who were fasting unto death in protest against the inhuman incident with a junior doctor in Kolkata. On the instructions of the IMA headquarters, the fast was observed in the local branch from 6 am to 6 pm. Along with this, the doctors tied black bands on the arms. IMA President Dr. Nandini Rastogi and Secretary Dr. Kunal Sahay said that symbolic mass fast has been done by the branches of the association across the country.
The doctors went on a mass fast and raised 10-point demands. Association President Dr. Nandini Rastogi said that the young doctors of Kolkata have been fasting unto death for 10 days for their demands. The condition of three doctors has become critical. Among the 10 demands, there was also a demand for the removal of the Health Secretary along with ensuring transparent justice. The program was conducted by Dr. Sahay. On this occasion, Dr. Brijendra Shukla, Dr. Vikas Mishra, Dr. Devjyoti Devrai, Dr. Anurag Mehrotra, Dr. Navtej Sharma, Dr. ND Sharma, Dr. Ashish Kumar, Dr. Kshama Shukla, Dr. Amit Singh Gaur etc. were present.
