If you are on social media then you must have heard that cab service company Uber charges fare according to different phones. For example, if you book a ride through an iPhone, it will be expensive, whereas the same ride will be cheaper if you book it through an Android phone. Many people have been bringing such cases to the world by sharing screenshots. Now Uber has responded to these allegations.
understand the matter first
A user with the handle @seriousfunnyguy on X shared a photo. In this, the ride fare is showing Rs 290 on Android phone, whereas on iPhone it is showing Rs 342. Along with this, the user wrote that the pickup point, destination and time are the same, but two types of fares are visible on two different phones. This happens to me all the time when I see more charges on my daughter’s phone. So most of the time I ask my daughter to book an Uber. Does this happen to anyone else?
Same pickup point, destination & time but 2 different phones get 2 different rates. It happens with me as I always get higher rates on my Uber as compared to my daughter’s phone. So most of the time, I request her to book my Uber. Does this happen with you too? What is the hack? pic.twitter.com/bFqMT0zZpW

In its comments, many users agreed with his words and also gave him some funny suggestions. Some users said that if someone uses Uber more, he sees higher fares.
How did Uber respond to this?

Uber has also responded to this post. The company wrote in its reply that there are many differences between the two journeys, due to which the fare is affected. In these, the pickup point, ETA and drop off point are different, due to which there is difference in fare. The company does not decide the fare by looking at the Uber rider’s phone.
The company has written on its website that it determines the fare based on the estimated distance and trip time. These estimates are subject to change due to factors such as demand patterns and traffic.
