External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has told that one of the first three calls made by Donald Trump after winning the US Presidential elections was also made to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was discussing what effect the relations between America and India will have after Trump comes to power. On Sunday (November 10, 2024), he had reached Mumbai to participate in the Aditya Birla Scholarship Program.

Harvard University professor and political philosopher Mitchell J. Sendle and Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla were also present. After the victory of Republican Party candidate Donald Trump in the US Presidential elections, the most discussed issue is which countries’ concerns have increased and which countries can benefit from his power. Meanwhile, India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar has made it clear that India is not among those countries which are worried about America.

S. Jaishankar said, ‘I know that today many countries are nervous about America, but India is not among them.’ He was asked whether the results of the US elections could affect the relations between the US and India, to which Jaishankar said that India and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Has maintained good relations with many Presidents of America. When asked about global power dynamics, he said, ‘Yes, there has been a change. We ourselves are an example of this change… If you look at our economic weight, you look at our economic ranking, you look at the Indian corporate world, their reach, their presence, Indian professionals. There is no doubt that rebalancing has taken place.

He said, ‘After the colonial period, countries got independence and they started choosing their own policies. Then it was certain that he would move ahead. Some of them grew fast, some grew slowly, some grew better, and there came the quality of governance and the quality of leadership.’

In his address, the External Affairs Minister said, ‘There is a trend towards a more diverse, multipolar world, but there is also a period when countries really move forward. I mean, it’s the same as what happened in the corporate world too. Along with this S. Jaishankar stressed that industrialized economies in the West cannot be ignored and remain prime investment targets.
