Durum wheat area increased in Madhya Pradesh

Now news has come to the fore that the area under durum wheat has increased in the country. According to media reports, Indian Agricultural Research Center IARI’s regional office at Indore informed that the current Rabi season is going on. In Madhya Pradesh, the area under durum wheat has increased to 13 lakh hectares. Whereas in the last season it was around 12 lakh hectares.
There is demand in the international market
There is a lot of demand for durum wheat in the international market, but due to the Russia-Ukraine war, there was some stagnation in the demand. Compared to earlier, the situation has now improved. In such a situation, once again the demand for this wheat can be registered in the international market. If the demand increases, the demand for durum wheat produced in Madhya Pradesh will also increase.
Durum wheat is also being sown in Uttar Pradesh
Experts say that durum wheat earns more than normal wheat. That’s why farmers are also eager to sow this crop. Due to better productivity and increasing demand in food processing industry, farmers of Madhya Pradesh are sowing more durum wheat. At the same time, in the neighboring state of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, farmers have started showing interest in sowing this crop.
