Eid Ul Fitr 2024 Karachi streets flood with four lakhs professional beggars in Ramazan month Crime spikes


Eid-ul-Fitr: The festival of Eid ul Fitr is being celebrated in Pakistan today i.e. on 10th April. During this period, a huge crowd of beggars has gathered in Karachi. According to Pakistani media channel Geo News, crowds of beggars from villages and towns around Karachi have come to the city during the month of Ramadan. Due to this the crime figures have also increased.

Karachi’s Additional Inspector General Imram Yaqoob Minhas gave information about this. He said that these are worrying situations. A crowd of three lakh to four lakh professional beggars has gathered in Karachi. All of them have come to the city to capitalize on the occasion of Eid.

Karachi becomes prime spot for professional beggars
According to AIG Minhas, Karachi has become a prime spot for professional beggars and criminals. He said that a large number of such people have arrived in Karachi from interior parts of Sindh, Balochistan and other parts of Pakistan.

Talking to Geo News, he said that we are not able to gather much information about crime through traditional methods. He has demanded from the administration that more CCTV cameras should be installed in Karachi, so that criminals can be kept under control.

Law and order deteriorated in Karachi
In fact, crime figures have suddenly increased in Karachi in recent times. During Ramadan alone, 19 civilians were targeted in street crimes. At the same time, from January 2024 till now, more than 55 people have lost their lives in cases of escaping from robbery.

Sindh High Court has also issued an ultimatum to the administration regarding the deteriorating law and order in Karachi. The High Court has ordered the administration to improve law and order within a month. These orders have been given by Sindh Chief Justice Akil Ahmed Abbasi. Along with this, he has also asked for a report on this within 15 days.
