Due to the heat wave in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, tourists visiting Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri fell ill. On Saturday, four tourists at Taj Mahal, three at Agra Fort and one at Fatehpur Sikri fell ill, who were given first aid at the dispensary.

At the Taj Mahal, Anam Sunitha from Odisha, Rajmani Devi from Patna, Pradeep Singh and Anshu Singh from Bhilwara fainted due to the scorching sun and heat. They were taken to the dispensary by the ASI’s May I Help You team and given first aid along with ORS solution.

All these tourists were roaming around Taj Mahal between 12 pm and 3 pm when they fell victim to heatstroke. Similarly, Kiran Verma, Vishvendra Singh and Munnalal in Agra Fort felt dizzy due to the scorching sun and were given ORS.

Britain’s Anthony felt dizzy at Panchmahal

In Fatehpur Sikri, amidst 45.5 degree temperature and scorching heat, British tourist Anthony, who had come to visit Fatehpur Sikri monuments, fainted and fell. On Saturday afternoon, 75-year-old British tourist Anthony had come with his wife to see the monuments of Sikri. When he reached the Panch Mahal complex, he fell due to the burning red stones and hot sun.

The SIS jawans present here took the tourist to the doctor on a stretcher. Here the doctor examined him and gave him first aid. ASI conservation assistant Dilip Singh and SIS commander Nagendra Singh let him go only after he recovered.
