Tourists who had come to see the Taj Mahal in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, fell prey to the scorching heat and heatwave. Anil Mishra, who had come from Varanasi, fainted and fell at the western gate of the Taj Mahal. When his condition deteriorated, the staff gave him ORS powder and then took him to the dispensary.

Like him, Nandini from Coimbatore, Krishnaswami from Dharwad, Anil Srivastava from Varanasi, Dharmapal from Panipat fell ill. Chandrakanth P from Hubli was taken from Taj Mahal dispensary to Shanti Mangalik Hospital after his health deteriorated, while Madivalappa Shidvappa from Dharwad was sent to SN Medical College for treatment from Shanti Mangalik Hospital.

There is no arrangement of stretcher in the dispensary

The dispensary built in Shilpgram at the eastern gate of Taj Mahal has only chairs, where the tourists who faint due to heat in Taj Mahal are brought. There is no stretcher here, no bed. The tourists who come here troubled by heat and heat, sit on the chairs only. Dharampal Singh, who came from Panipat, said that he was made to sit on a chair for rest, while he wanted to rest on the bed. Beds should be arranged here instead of chairs.

Appetite has disappeared due to heat, stomach pain is occurring

Due to the scorching heat and mercury reaching close to 47 degrees, there is a crowd of patients at the OPD of SN Medical College as well as at the nursing homes and clinics of private doctors. Most of them are complaining of lack of appetite and stomach ache. Complaints of not eating lunch after breakfast in the morning and stomach ache are being reported.

Most of the patients who came to the medicine department of the medical college were suffering from stomach pain and loss of appetite due to heat stroke. Doctors have advised to drink plenty of water, coconut water, buttermilk and lassi along with eating cucumber, kachri and melon.
