Chief Election Commissioner of India (CEC) Rajeev Kumar has announced that the committee is trying to make the voting process convenient for the people and for this, 27 apps and portals are being introduced.
ECI launched many portals and apps
ECI has announced a Voters Helpline (VHA) app which will make it easier to view polling booth details and apply for online forms. It will also help voters connect with their Booth Level Officer (BLO) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs). It will also allow voters to download their e-EPIC (Electronic Photo Identity Card). Voter Helpline App has now been made available for download on Google Play Store.
What is the name of cVigil app?
Apart from this, the Election Commission of India has also launched an app named cVigil, which will provide users the facility to report violations of model code of conduct and use of funds during the election process. This is the only app for recording, reporting and resolution of any violation.
It offers users a response timeline of 100 minutes. Its special thing is that it keeps any complaint made by any person completely secret. cVigil app can also be downloaded from Google Play Store.
What will be the function of KYC portal?
Apart from this, ECI has also launched KYC portal for the convenience of voters. In this portal, voters can see complete details of things like their candidate’s affidavit and his criminal record. According to the Election Commission, it is mandatory for all political parties to publish all their information on all such portals and apps.

The purpose of this portal is to make all the information transparent for the voters. Apart from this, the committee has also launched a convenience portal for the candidates participating in the general elections. Candidates can use this portal to seek permission for any meeting, rallies etc.
