Energy Minister in the Delhi government and Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi Marlena has alleged that the BJP through the Lieutenant Governor is trying to end the power subsidy given to the people of the capital. Describing this statement of the minister as an outright lie, the BJP said that a person sitting on a responsible position should not make such baseless talk. If the minister has any such evidence, he should present it before the public, otherwise he should apologize for his misrepresentation.

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Virendra Sachdeva said in a press conference on Friday that Power Minister Atishi had falsely accused the Lieutenant Governor of ending power subsidy in the past. The BJP demands that the Kejriwal government make public the letter or evidence in which the Lieutenant Governor has asked to end the electricity subsidy. He said that if the government does not have any such evidence, then they should immediately apologize to the public for their lies.

Sachdeva said that the Arvind Kejriwal government has now started misleading the judiciary as well. He also accused the government of misleading the judiciary by giving it incomplete information. He said that the government first suppressed the facts in the case of a special school for specially-abled children. Lied to the court on 18th November 2022 that the concerned file is in the Lt. Governor’s office, while the concerned minister sent the file recently on 28th March 2023 to the Lt. Governor’s office. This is how the lies of the government get exposed.

What did the minister say?

In fact, Aam Aadmi Party leaders have been alleging that the BJP is conspiring to end the power subsidy. Energy Minister Atishi Marlena also alleged during a press conference that the BJP was trying to end the subsidy being given to the people of Delhi through the Lieutenant Governor. He had expressed confidence that the Delhi government would fully protect the interests of the citizens of the capital and the power subsidy would continue. He had also assured that there would be 24-hour uninterrupted power supply in the capital this summer as well.
