Expansion
The date for the complete opening of the elevated corridor built between Anand Vihar-Apsara border will be decided soon. The Public Works Department (PWD) has sent a file to the Delhi government in this matter. It has sought time for the inauguration. It is being told that after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal comes out of jail, he will inaugurate it.
PWD officials say that the construction work of the corridor has been completed. As a trial, traffic is also being run during peak hours. There are many trees in the project, which need to be cut. Permission for this was sought from the forest department two years ago, but permission has not been received yet. The department will start traffic without removing the trees.
Barricades will be installed near the tree coming in the middle of the corridor. Let us tell you that the 1.2 kilometer long elevated corridor will eliminate the red light of Ramprastha Nagar, Surya Nagar and Shrestha Vihar. This will facilitate smooth travel between Seemapuri and Anand Vihar. Anand Vihar is an important transit hub connecting East Delhi to Ghaziabad and Noida. This corridor will cover Dilshad Garden, Shahdara, Preet Vihar, Laxmi Nagar and surrounding areas. After the corridor is fully opened, about 1.48 lakh vehicles will ply on it daily.
