Musk has called WhatsApp a spyware while replying to a user’s post on X. After this answer of Elon Musk, a controversy has started regarding how safe the users’ data is on WhatsApp.
Controversy started with user’s post
This whole controversy started with a post by a user named DogeDesigner, in which the user shared a screenshot. In this, the user asks his friend to buy a bag, but after some time he starts seeing advertisements of the bag.
On this, this person posted about the instant messaging platform and wrote that if WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted, then why am I suddenly seeing ads for bags? Responding to the same post, the CEO of X wrote that because it is spyware.

Meta has been accused of data export
Recently, there were reports of WhatsApp stealing users’ data. In this episode, Elon Musk accused Meta of exporting valuable data of users. Not only this, Musk alleged that Meta’s platform is not protecting the privacy of users and is also preventing them from freedom of speech.
