The protest of teachers and employees has intensified regarding the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) introduced recently by the Central Government. On Thursday, teachers and employees launched a campaign on the social media platform X regarding this. They also wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding restoration of the old pension.
Teachers and employees trended No NPS, No UPS, Only OPS on X. More than four lakh teachers and employees participated in it. Due to this, it kept trending for a long time. National President of National Movement for Old Pension Scheme (NMOPS) Vijay Kumar Bandhu said that this shows how much the teachers and employees are angry with the new scheme.
He said that like NPS, UPS is also a fraud with the employees. There is anger in the whole country regarding this. Therefore, the government should end NPS and OPS and restore the old pension. On the other hand, National Spokesperson of NMOPS, Dr. Rajesh Kumar said that the employees are united for the restoration of old pension. In the next phase, the employees will work wearing black bands from September 2 to 6.
