England vs New Zealand, Ben Stokes: Ben Stokes’ storm with the bat was seen in the third match of the 4-match ODI series being played between England and New Zealand. Stokes, who recently came back from his ODI retirement, played a century in the ODI format after 6 years. Stokes’ aggressive style was seen in this match and he completed his century in just 76 balls. Although he missed out on scoring a double century, the record of scoring the highest number of runs in ODIs for England has now been registered in his name.
In this match, the New Zealand team decided to bowl first after winning the toss. After David Malan returned to the pavilion, Ben Stokes got the support of captain Jos Buttler and both of them did not give any chance to the New Zealand bowlers to make any comeback. Stokes scored an innings of 182 runs in 124 balls in this match. Along with this, Stokes also broke Jason Roy’s record of 180 runs. In this match, the England team was limited to 368 runs in 48.1 overs. Trent Boult took maximum 5 wickets for New Zealand.
