A team of GST and Excise Department caught a Matador at 11 am on October 7 near village Hussainpur on Aligarh Road in Sikanderau. When opened, 298 boxes of English liquor were found in it. This liquor was being sent to Bihar on fake e-way bill. The driver fled the Matador from the spot. During investigation, the police found out that a fake number plate had been installed on the vehicle, while the registration number of the vehicle turned out to be different.
Aligarh’s GST team spotted a Matador in suspicious condition near village Hussainpur on GT Road. When it was stopped and searched, 298 boxes of English liquor of Imperial O brand were found in it. 98 boxes contained liquor bottles and 201 boxes contained half. When GST officials checked the e-way bill, it was found to be fake. Excise department teams from Hathras and Aligarh reached the spot. This liquor was going from Punjab to Bihar and the bottles were stamped with Made in Goa.
The value of the seized liquor is said to be around Rs 7,32,190. The team has sealed the entire liquor and filed a case. The excise team included Kuldeep Chauhan, Kshitij Kumar, Vinay Kumar, Yogesh Kumar, Dhananjay Singh etc.
