Even an 11 year old child was not spared…this middle aged man was jailed for 110 years

Thrissur: Chavakkad fast-track special court judge Anyas Thayal sentenced a 52-year-old man to 110 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old boy. The judge had earlier also imposed a rigorous imprisonment of 130 years on the accused for sexually abusing a 10-year-old boy in another case. This decision sends a strong message about the increasing sexual crimes against children in the society.

The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 7,75,000 on the accused, Sajeevan, a resident of Mangadi Veetil, Urumanayur Muthammavu. If he fails to pay the fine, he will have to undergo rigorous imprisonment for another 31 years. According to Special Public Prosecutor, Siju Muttha, the judge has directed the District Legal Services Authority to provide legally eligible compensation to the victim. This step is important towards ensuring justice for the victim.

The accused invited the boys to the terrace of his house by offering them a nutritional drink. After this he sexually abused the boys and gave them a small packet of Boost.
