Dheeraj Kumar/Madhepura. Khaja is one of the famous sweets of Bihar. On hearing the name of Khaja, the names of Silav of Nalanda and Pipra of Supaul come to mind. Why didn’t you come? No matter where you eat Khaja in Kosi and Seemanchal, your heart keeps yearning for Khaja from Pipra market. But now you do not need to go there to eat or buy food from Pipra Bazaar. In Madhepura city itself you can buy Pipra market made in pure desi ghee. For this you will have to come to the bus stand. Shravan Poddar has been selling Khaja here for the last 8 years.
Two types of Khaja are made at Shravan Poddar’s place. One is prepared in pure desi ghee, while the other is prepared in coryphene. Shravan told that more than one quintal of Khaja is easily sold from his shop every day. He tells that he himself is a resident of Pipra. From there he learned the art of making Khaja. That’s why their cough has the same taste as Pipra. For this reason, the taste of Khaja is different as compared to other shops of Madhepura.
The rate ranges from Rs 160 to Rs 500 per kg
Khaja is available at Shravan’s place ranging from Rs 160 per kg to Rs 500 per kg, which has become the first choice of customers in the city. He told that refined Khaja is sold for Rs 160 per kg, while special Khaja with ghee is sold for Rs 500 per kg. Shravan says that he is originally from Pipra of Supaul. Came to visit Sinheshwar with a friend 8 years ago. Then, after seeing the demand for Khaja at a shop, I got the idea of opening a shop here and then opened a shop in Madhepura.
