When was EVM used for the first time?

After this, EVMs were used in the year 1998 in 25 assembly constituencies of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi.

At the same time, a maximum of 3840 votes can be recorded in an EVM machine. Whereas, a total of 64 candidates’ names can be included in an EVM machine.

How much does an EVM machine cost?

In the initial phase i.e. in the year 1990, when the EVM machine was purchased for the first time, its price (EVM Price) was around Rs.5500. After this, in the year 2014, when the EVM machine was ordered, the price of one machine was fixed at Rs 10,500.
