According to the report of the Guardian website, an ancient Roman tomb (2000 year old wine found in Roman tomb) was found in the city of Carmona, Spain, about 5 years ago, i.e. in 2019. This tomb was in the town of Andalucian (Carmona, Spain). When a house was being repaired, people suddenly found this tomb, after which its investigation began. This discovery was reported in the Journal of Archaeological Science. Now it has come to light that the liquid in the pot found in the tomb was the local wine of that time. It is being described as the oldest wine in the world.

The wine is 2000 years old
Before this discovery, in 1867, a Roman tomb was found in the German city of Speyer, in which a wine bottle was found. It was estimated that it was from 325 AD. According to the Daily Mail, it must have been a white wine, however, now its color has become brownish-red. This is because a chemical reaction took place in this wine for 2000 years, due to which the color changed. Apart from wine, the bones of a Roman person have also been found in the pitcher. According to the Daily Mail, those bones must have been of a person up to 45 years of age.

Archaeologist and co-author of the report, Juan Manuel Roman, said that when he found these pots, he thought that it would be just a tomb and there would be some items kept with it, which have been found many times before. But he never thought that the liquid found would be such old wine. According to the report, in ancient Roman civilization, wine was used a lot while burying people after death. They believed that wine helps the dead person to go to the next life!
