UP is a state with possibilities. 16 percent of India’s population lives in UP alone. Uttar Pradesh has only 11 percent of India’s total cultivable land, but Uttar Pradesh accounts for more than 20 percent of the total food grain production in the country. Within Uttar Pradesh, farmers use only 10 percent of the cultivable land for horticultural crops, whereas in the 10 percent land, 24 percent share in the total GDP of agriculture is received by the farmers and the state through horticultural crops. This shows that if the income of Annadata farmers is to be increased manifold, then along with traditional farming, horticultural crops will have to be increased. For this encouragement, progressive farmers were honored today. These farmers have tried to innovate through dragon fruit, strawberry, flower cultivation and polyhouse. The double engine government is giving opportunities to farmers to move forward in every situation.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said these things. On Saturday, along with Governor Anandi Ben Patel, he inaugurated the 55th Regional Fruit, Vegetable and Flower Exhibition-2024 at Raj Bhavan. After this, the Governor and the Chief Minister also visited the exhibition. This exhibition will run for three days (17 to 19 February). The CM took information about fruits and vegetables from departmental officers and farmers here and also asked about its import and export. The Governor and CM also released the souvenir.

CM expressed gratitude towards the Governor
CM expressed gratitude towards the Governor. He said that the Governor provides this courtyard every year for exhibitions for progressive farmers interested in horticultural crops. Not only farmers, but people coming from all over the state including Lucknow also become a part of this exhibition. According to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the income of farmers has to be increased manifold and if villages, districts and the state can contribute to the GDP of the state, then we will have to move forward with more interest in this sector. This will not only increase the income but will also prepare people to fight diseases like malnutrition by bringing comprehensive changes in the lives of every citizen through these horticultural crops in terms of vitamins and nutrients. On this occasion, Horticulture Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh, Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra, Agriculture Production Commissioner Manoj Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad etc. were present.
