The SIT has arrested the father-son duo, the masterminds of the inter-state gang who were absconding in the teacher recruitment scam, from Varanasi and Maharajganj. Father Harendra Pandey was a math teacher at Chitrakoot Inter College, Varanasi. He used to look for candidates and make arrangements with them. Son Prakash Pandey is a lecturer at Mahatma Gandhi Inter College, Maharajganj. Prakash Pandey used to look after the transactions. The money used to come in his account. During interrogation of both, the names of a retired DIOS and two clerks of DIOS office Kanpur have come up. The police have presented the accused father-son in the court and sent them to jail.

DCP Central RS Gautam told in a press conference at ACP Colonelganj office that Colonelganj police station has arrested Harendra Pandey, resident of Jaitpura, Varanasi and his son Prakash Pandey. Harendra Pandey and Lalji, who was sent to jail earlier, had relations for 30 years. Lalji was a clerk in the Secondary Education Service Selection Board. Harendra used to have work in the board, due to which both came in contact. Dinesh Kumar Pandey and Abhinav Tripathi of Mirzapur, who were sent to jail earlier, looked after the work related to DIOS. Harendra used to find candidates and then make arrangements for their appointment. He also used to deposit money in the bank account of son Prakash. After this Prakash used to handle the entire transaction. In the recruitment of nine teachers, five were in contact with Harendra, while four were with Dinesh and Abhinav.
