But, today we will tell you about a temple where no god is worshipped, but a dog is worshipped. There is a belief about this temple that by bowing one’s head and lighting incense sticks in front of the dog statue every day, people’s wishes are fulfilled.
This unique temple is built on the road from Sambhar to Phulera in Jaipur. The temple can be easily seen while going through this route. This temple built on the roadside is crowded with people every day. The worship in this temple is performed by 72 year old Santosh Devi. Santosh Devi Devi told that this is the temple of the pet dog of folk deity Peetha Baba, who had given up his life out of devotion to Swami.
Know the story behind the temple
Santosh Devi, who worshiped in the temple, told that the famous saint of the area, Maharaj Pitha Baba always used to worship God. Even while doing farm and household work, he remained engrossed in devotion to God. He always had a faithful dog with him. When Pitha Baba was killed by a robber on the way to Sambhar, his faithful dog was the first to inform about it at home. Since then, the faithful dog has also been worshiped in the temple of Pitha Baba Maharaj.
Why is this unique temple famous?
The temple of Pitha Baba Maharaj built on Sambhar to Phulera road is a very famous temple in the area. Devotees come here from far and wide to have darshan of their Maharaj. Here, along with Pitha Baba Maharaj, there is also a temple of his faithful dog on a big platform, where worship is done. Many Bhamashahs have also contributed in the construction of the temple. It is believed that after circling this temple, burning incense sticks fulfills one’s wishes. This is the reason why this temple has become a big center of faith.
