Mai Hoon Na Movie: Everyone is crazy about the acting of Bollywood king Shahrukh Khan. And if it is a matter of romance then there is no answer from the actor. The film ‘Main Hoon Na’ released in 2004 is one of them. The love story of teacher and student in this film was very much liked. Due to the strong casting, this film forced the audience to remain sitting on their chairs. Recently, film director Farah Khan, while sharing an anecdote related to the making and casting of this film, mentioned an actress who had come for audition wearing a burqa.
Mini role audition
In an interview with casting director Mukesh Chhabra, Farah Khan said – We were auditioning for the role of the film character Mini. Since the character of ‘Mini’ was quite unique, I was very selective. Farah further said- ‘Initially an actress was signed. But fed up with the demands of the actress’s mother, we canceled it. Describing about the tantrums of the actress, Farah Khan said – ‘The actress’s mother gave me a list according to which I had to give Shahrukh Khan level treatment to that actress. The demand of that actress was that she would stay in the same hotel as Shahrukh Khan. After hearing all this, I rejected the actress.
The actress came to audition wearing a burqa
Farah told that another actress had come for Mini’s audition and everyone was shocked to see her. This is because the woman was wearing a burqa. When the crew members asked the actress about her, they came to know that she was Rakhi Sawant. Farah Khan said- ‘We all were surprised to see Rakhi wearing a burqa. After this Rakhi asked to roll the camera and removed her burqa. We were not as surprised as we were after seeing Rakhi in burqa. We were even more surprised to see Rakhi’s costume after removing her burqa. Rakhi Sawant had come for audition wearing a bikini. Rakhi was finalized for the role of Mini after some time. This is because Rakhi Sawant had got her hair orange at that time. To hide them, Farah Khan had given him a sweater and cap.
