Farhan Akhtar Revealed his Parents Javed Akhtar and Honey Irani separation affected him and made him angry

Farhan Akhtar On Parents Separation: Javed Akhtar first married Honey Irani. The couple has two children, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. However, Javed and Honey separated in 1985. Javed Akhtar’s divorce with Honey Irani had a profound effect on his son Farhan Akhtar. Since then Farhan has been avoiding fights. Farhan recently appeared on Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast with his wife Shibani Dandekar. During this, he told that his parents’ divorce made him very angry.

Parents’ separation changed my perspective about things
Farhan Akhtar said, “For me, this was the moment that changed my whole perspective about things, probably my parents’ separation. Till then, it seemed like everything was fine. And I think it forced me to go further into my own realm because being young, I didn’t really know what was happening.”

Zoya was more intelligent
Farhan further added, “I had no idea what was happening. Zoya (Akhtar) was very much aware of what was happening, and I think in some way, being the elder, she protected me from the kind of grief that my mother was going through at that time. I think as a girl my mother was more comfortable talking to her. And Zoya has always been older and wiser than her age. She grew up very fast. Whereas I was just in my own world, unaware of what was happening.”

How did Farhan become angry?
Farhan further added, “I think I became very defensive after my parents separated because when we had fights, kids were very mean and kids don’t have that filter, so they say anything that can hurt the other child. They are not aware of how much psychological and emotional damage they are causing to someone. I think that’s the part that made me angry – ‘Why do I have to listen to this?'”

Talking about the work front, Farhan Akhtar will soon be seen in 120 Bahadur. He will play the role of PVC Major Shaitan Singh in the film. He will also direct Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani starrer ‘Don 3’. Apart from this, he will also direct Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and katrina kaif He is also planning to make ‘Jee Le Zara’ with him.
