Expansion

At present, it is not possible to start the construction of Jangal Kauria-Jagdishpur four-lane ring road in Gorakhpur district on time. The reality is that 154 hectares of land is to be taken on the basis of consent from the farmers of 26 villages, but till now not even a piece of land is with the GDA. The farmers of most of the villages are not ready. They demand that the amount of compensation should be given as per the prevailing market rate. Means 20 times more.

After completion of the survey of the road, pillar has also been installed by NHAI. Now the process of signing the consent letter for giving compensation for the land has started. In this sequence, the team of SLO and NHAI reached Ithian at 1 pm on Friday. Even before this, more than 100 villagers had gathered there after getting the information. The employees involved in the team started talking about getting the consent form filled on Rs.10 stamp paper. At first the villagers listened attentively to the employees. After this the ruckus started.

Three months have passed since the foundation stone, it will take more time to start the work

Along with the land, the NOC of the Forest Department has also become an obstacle in the way of Jangal Kauria-Jagdishpur Ring Road. NOC can still be obtained, but it is not easy to resolve the land issue due to compensation issue. The construction of this proposed 26.6 kilometer long ring road at a cost of about 1925 crores is to begin in June.

The target is to complete it in two years. Now only this one patch is left for the ring road to be ready around the city. With its construction, people from outside will not have to enter the city to go towards Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj or Bihar, which will reduce the problem of jam. With this thought, on the initiative of the Chief Minister, the Central Government approved the proposal and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had laid its foundation stone in March.
