Farmers in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh have adopted a special technique, which is proving helpful in the production of their potato crop. Farmers of Bohich village located in Shikarpur tehsil here spray alcohol along with pesticides in potato crops. This process has been a topic of discussion among farmers for the last few years and its results have also been quite positive.
Farmers say that spraying alcohol has many benefits for the potato crop. The biggest benefit is that the liquor protects the potato crop from winter and increases its size. Also, potato reduces the effect of any kind of disease, especially in winter. Spraying of alcohol also keeps the color of potatoes clean and shiny, which also increases its quality.
the effect of frost is reduced
Farmer Ram Babu Sharma of Bohich village says that we have been spraying liquor in potato crops for the last four-five years and we have benefited a lot from it. This increases the size of potatoes and also reduces the effect of frost. We spray about 200 ml of alcohol mixed with medicines in one acre (6 bighas) and till now we have not seen any negative effect.

Farmer Kanchan Kumar Sharma says that by spraying alcohol, the shape of the potato improves and it becomes thicker. We also do this to protect it from frost, so that there is no damage to the crop. We have been using it for the last seven-eight years and there have been no side effects.
