Advanced Seed Park: A saying is very famous among the farmers that ‘the better the seed, the better the crop’. On the same lines, improved seeds are made available to the farmers in many states. Mini kits are also distributed free of cost to reduce the cost of seed procurement. Now the UP government is also working in this direction and has made a big plan regarding the availability of seeds. The state government is now going to develop its own seed park, so that instead of importing from outside the state, availability of advanced processed seeds can be ensured to the farmers from the domestic seed park itself.
In this work, the Agriculture Department of UP will also get the cooperation of the southern states. According to the report, there is a plan to set up UP’s first seed park in Rehman Kheda, Malihabad, Lucknow, from where the seeds of coarse grains will also be provided to the farmers.
What is the government’s planning for seed park
Uttar Pradesh’s first seed park is ready to set up. A few days ago, UP’s Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Sahi also visited the Bayer Multi Crop Breeding Research Center Chadippa, Hyderabad, where many important information was received regarding the development of the seed park.
During this, representatives of Hyderabad’s big seed companies NejuVD, Syngenta, Kaveri, Nair Crop Science Company were also present. During the discussion with these representatives, Agriculture Minister Sahi called for cooperation for seed park development in Lucknow, the capital of UP.
Improved seeds of paddy and millet will be available
According to media reports, advanced processed varieties of paddy and millet will also be provided in the seed park to be developed in UP. To ensure their availability, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Sahi visited Indian Rice Research Institute and Indian Millet Research Institute, Hyderabad and got detailed information about advanced seeds of paddy and millet, food processing and startups.
This institute will give seeds of coarse grains
In Uttar Pradesh, the exercise to increase the production of coarse grains has intensified, but for better production it is also necessary to have progressive seeds. The Indian Millet Research Institute has assured help for providing advanced seeds of millet in the state.
The institute has also said that to increase the yield of millet in Uttar Pradesh, it will also send scientists on UP visit, so that they can guide the farmers.
