Tehsil media in-charge of Bharatiya Kisan Union Tikait faction, resident of Mohalla Jatwan of Hasayan town in Hathras, has filed a case of theft against his own son-in-law. He ended his strike on January 12 on the condition of returning the expenses incurred on his daughter’s marriage and the stolen amount. A compromise has been offered for this from the son-in-law’s side.
Jewelery worth Rs 8 lakh and cash worth Rs 1.5 lakh were stolen from the house of media in-charge Nihal Singh. Nihal Singh Nayak had sat on strike when no action was taken in this theft incident that took place nine and a half months ago. When the police did not listen, on the orders of the court, a report was lodged against the Delhi resident son-in-law at Hasayan police station.
On December 28, he had sat on a dharna under the open sky in the premises of the Community Health Center located outside the police station, demanding action against his son-in-law. After the dharna started, SDM Sikandra Rao Ved Singh Chauhan and Kotwali Police Station Head Dheeraj Kumar Gautam had sought time till January 5 to take action. When no solution was found after 5th January, Nihal Singh sat on strike again on 11th January.
During this time a compromise was offered by the son-in-law. Nihal Singh told that if the son-in-law’s side is ready to return the items given at the daughter’s wedding and pay the amount of items stolen from the house, then they can reach a compromise. Otherwise they will be forced to protest again. The only thing that has happened is that the amount has not been received as per the agreement.
