In Samastipur late on Friday evening, criminals strangled a female railway worker to death. The deceased has been identified as Mineta Devi (48), wife of a late technician of the Railway Mechanical Workshop. She is originally a resident of Mokama Daryapur. On receiving information about the incident, the city police reached the spot and started investigation. The incident took place at Madhuri Chowk Railway Colony Road No. 13.
The job was done on compassionate grounds
Regarding the incident, family members say that Mineta was working in the Railway Mechanical Factory on compassionate grounds after the death of her husband. She lived alone with her daughter. His daughter sometimes lived in the railway quarters and sometimes at her grandmother’s place. Today Minata Devi’s room was not open the whole day. Mineta’s neighbors say that the waterman had come in the morning. He shouted loudly but did not get any response from inside, then he returned. When the room of the female railway worker did not open till evening, the people nearby informed the police. However, when the police reached there, the gate of the quarter was open, due to which many types of apprehensions are being expressed.
Medical gloves and wire recovered
As soon as information about the incident was received, the local police reached the spot. Police saw that a yellow shawl was wrapped around the woman’s neck. She was lying on the bed in a semi-nude state. Whereas there was a chair lying on the bed in the front room. Two medical gloves were also lying on the table. Besides, a wrapped wire was also lying on the bed. It is believed that the woman has been strangled to death.
daughter is missing from home
It has been told that the woman used to live with her daughter but today her daughter was not there. Due to which many types of apprehensions are being raised. Regarding the woman’s daughter, neighbors say that she used to come and go to the quarter. But today she has not been seen.
Police engaged in investigation
City Police Station Head cum Inspector Ashutosh Kumar says that at first sight it seems that the woman has been murdered. The police is investigating the entire matter. Medical gloves, wires etc. have been seized on the spot. Even the people around are not able to tell much.
