Gaurav Verma (resident of DLF, Ankur Vihar, Nauni Ghaziabad), employed in the Electricity Department, was travelling from Ghaziabad to Lucknow by car with his ailing parents, wife and children at around 10 am on Sunday morning. Around six youths, who were already standing at the Rahankalan toll plaza, stopped the car. Gaurav, who was sitting on the driver’s seat, was pushed inside.
He himself drove the car back to his yard in Kuberpur. Somehow Gaurav called his friend Khemchandra Sharma of Agra and informed him about his family being held hostage. Khemchandra Sharma, who reached the spot, informed Additional Commissioner Keshav Chaudhary. Police reached the yard. After a lot of effort, the police were able to free the victim’s family.
The victim’s family left crying with their sick parents. Khemchandra Sharma gave a written complaint to the police. In it, he has accused more than six people of Gattu Brothers Company of kidnapping his friend Gaurav Verma along with his family, holding them hostage and mentally torturing them.
ACP Dr. Sukanya Sharma said that people from the finance company had seized a family’s car. They said that the finance amount was due. But, the payment was due on the first party and the car was being driven by a third party. The police reached the spot and got the car back.
