A fire broke out again in the garbage dump at Aligarh Municipal Corporation’s garbage disposal site A2Z Plant on 7 June late evening. However, after some effort, the fire was brought under control with the help of fire brigade. The Municipal Corporation has taken the fire breaking out for the second time in a week’s time seriously. Now it has been decided to install a barbed wire fence around the dump.

There is a decades old garbage disposal site of Nagar Nigam on Mathura Road. Till now garbage was collected by A2Z at this place. A week ago also a fire broke out in the garbage dump at this place. It could be extinguished after an overnight effort. Now on 7th June late evening a fire broke out at the same place again. Within a short time this information reached Nagar Nigam and fire station. On receiving the information, Additional Nagar Aayukt Rakesh Yadav and two fire engines reached the spot.

After an hour of effort, the fire was brought under control. Till late night, water was poured on the smoldering heap. During this time, it was believed that some mischievous element must have thrown a burning bidi or cigarette like before. Due to which the fire broke out. The Additional Municipal Commissioner said that the garbage site will be cordoned off. So that no one can come here now. The fire has been brought under control.
