A fire suddenly broke out in a garment factory in Karol Bagh, central Delhi on Wednesday afternoon. The fire spread throughout the factory in no time. As soon as the news was received, eight fire engines along with the police reached there. Rescue work began. Fortunately, the people present in the factory had left the building as soon as the fire broke out.

While trying to control the fire, a small LPG cylinder suddenly exploded and six firemen were hit by it. The injured firemen Battilal, Dipender, Sandeep, Pradeep, Abhijeet and Rahul Ranga were immediately taken to the nearest hospital where they were given first aid. All except two were discharged. The fire broke out on the third floor of the building. After initial investigation, it is suspected that the fire broke out due to a short circuit. Apart from the crime team, the FSL team also reached the spot. The police is trying to find out the exact cause of the fire. The fire was brought under control late in the evening.

Delhi Fire Service Director Atul Garg said that his team received information at 1.36 pm that a fire has broken out in a building behind Gurudwara Road, Bikaner in Karol Bagh. As soon as the information was received, eight fire engines from Moti Nagar and Prasad Nagar reached there. The building in which the fire broke out had four floors above the ground floor.

The fire was on the third floor here.

Here, embroidery work was done on clothes using machines. First, the machines caught fire. After this, the clothes and the entire factory caught fire. The building was evacuated as soon as the fire broke out. The fire brigade personnel somehow controlled the fire at around 5.45 pm. Cooling work was going on. Moti Nagar Fire Station’s STO Battilal is also among the casualties. The police is trying to find out the exact cause of the fire.
