Fire breaks out in Korba-Visakhapatnam Express no casualties reported


Train Fire: There is news of fire in the bogies of Korba Express. On Sunday (August 4), the bogies of Korba Express (18517) train which reached Visakhapatnam from Korba in Chhattisgarh caught fire. The fire was so fierce that three bogies were completely burnt to ashes. Fortunately, there is no report of any casualty in the accident so far.

Many reports are saying that three bogies of the train have caught fire. However, news agency ANI has said that only one bogie caught fire. Talking to news agency ANI, a police officer said, ‘A fire broke out in an empty bogie of a train at the railway station which was extinguished immediately. This incident of fire took place around 10 am.’

Burnt bogies were separated

It was told that this incident happened on platform number four of Visakhapatnam station. The railway department said that the track has been cleared by separating the burnt bogies. There were sheets, thermocol and bedding in the burnt bogies. Due to the inflammable material, the fire spread and the goods were destroyed in a moment. The bogies which caught fire were air conditioned.

Eyewitnesses said, ‘They were very scared after the train bogies caught fire. The flames and smoke were shocking. In a short time, the fire became very fierce. There was panic among the people on the platform. The police and fire department were informed immediately. Everyone reached safe places on the platform.’

How was the fire controlled?

After getting the information, fire brigade employees reached Visakhapatnam station and started trying to control the fire. A video of this fire incident is going viral on social media in which employees can be seen extinguishing the fire. The glass of the bogie was broken and water was sprayed on it.
