First Muslim Attack on India Mohammad bin qasim and raja dahir war

First Muslim Attack on India: Many Mughal rulers ruled India, but very few people know which Muslim first attacked India. After all, which Caliph attacked India, which king was ruling at that time? Let us know.

Which Muslim first attacked India?

India was first attacked by Mohammed bin Qasim, a commander of the Caliphate, in the 8th century. At that time, Sindh was ruled by Raja Dahir. His war with King Dahir of Sindh is considered one of the earliest invasions of Islam into the Indian subcontinent.

He may not be discussed much in India, but Pakistan’s Jamaat-i-Islami organization considers Qasim as the ‘first Pakistani’.

It is said that after the Caliphs captured Iran and then Afghanistan, they forced the Hindu, Parsi and Buddhist people there to accept Islam, and then moved them towards Baloch and Sindh of India.

Why was Sindh attacked?

The attack on Sindh was ordered after a robbery incident. The king of Ceylon (today’s Sri Lanka) had sent 8 ships full of gifts and treasure to the Arabian Caliph Al-Walheed I. But before he could reach Samman Arabia, he was robbed at a port near Sindh.

Al Hajjaj, the governor of Iraq, held Sindh responsible for this, although King Dahir of Sindh explained it as his compulsion as he had no control over the pirates, but to avenge this incident, Hajjaj announced an attack on Sindh. .

All the powers of the world were sent to attack India but were defeated every time. The Caliph was in shock. After facing defeat twice, Hajjaj sent his nephew and son-in-law Imaduddin Muhammad bin Qasim at the head of a huge army to attack Sindh for the third time.

The battle of Raver took place between Raja Dahir and Mohammad Qasim.

Muhammad Qasim laid a trap to attack Sindh in which a traitor gave all the information about the secrets of the city to the enemy. Then the next three Arab armies carried out a massacre. People were given the option to choose between accepting Islam or death. Many thousands of Hindus were brutally killed.

Ultimately a battle was fought between Dahir and Qasim, which is called the battle of Raver. Started fighting the war in 712 AD. This was a serious and fierce war. The king was injured in the war. But he kept fighting till his last breath. Qasim won the battle, but on the orders of the Caliph, Qasim’s death order was issued before he could set foot on Sindh.
