Life in Pilibhit district has been disrupted due to the rains that have been going on for the last three days. The rivers have also started overflowing due to the rains, due to which flood situation has arisen in many areas. Due to the rise in the water level in the Sharda river, flood situation has arisen in the villages of Trans Sharda area. Flood water has entered the houses in Bailha, a village bordering Nepal. The district administration has issued an alert in view of the floods and rains.

The problems of the villagers have increased due to floods amid rain. Many villagers have left their villages and taken shelter at higher places, while many people have kept household items on the roofs of their houses. On Sunday, 1.29 lakh cusecs of water has been released in the Sharda river. 2905 cusecs of water has been released in the Devha river. Due to this, the water level of both the rivers is increasing.

ADM Finance and Revenue Ritu Poonia has issued an alert in view of rain and floods. She said that the water level in Sharda and Devaha rivers is rising. Keeping this in mind, people should not go to the river banks. People living on the banks of the rivers should move to safer places. The ADM has instructed the Lekhpal, Revenue Inspectors, Village Development Officer and the personnel posted at flood posts to remain alert.
