The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) will be held on July 6. The Kerala Cyber Police have registered a case against those who are trying to sell FMGE question papers and answer keys on social media. The question papers for the exam are still being prepared. FMGE June-2024 applicants are advised to be cautious of such unscrupulous elements who are trying to cheat them.
Doctors who complete MBBS from abroad have to pass the FMGE exam to practice in India. Thiruvananthapuram police have registered a case against those who advertised the sale of question papers of the July 6 exam on social media groups. The case has been registered under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act 2024 in the case of cheating in the FMGE exam, which is the first case in the state under this Act. Fraudsters are trying to mislead candidates on social media.
A notice said that some people on social media platforms are claiming to provide FMGE questions for FMGE June-2024 and are demanding huge amounts for it. A police complaint has been filed against such fraudsters in Kerala. Question papers for tomorrow’s FMGE are still being prepared. FMGE June-2024 applicants are warned to beware of such fraudsters who are misleading FMGE candidates.
What is FMGE?
FMGE i.e. Foreign Medical Graduate Examination is a mandatory exam for obtaining a medical license in India. It was made mandatory under the “Screening Test Regulation, 2002”. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) conducts the FMGE exam.
This exam is for Indian citizens or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders who have obtained MBBS degree from abroad and want to work as a doctor in India. It is necessary to pass this exam to get provisional or permanent registration from the Medical Council of India (MCI) or any state medical council.
