Modi government wants to curb the arbitrary powers of the board
It is believed that if this bill is passed in the Parliament, it will bring about a major change in the management and transfer of Waqf properties in India, through which it will be able to work according to the power that Waqf Board has in other Islamic countries. At present, Waqf Board does not have such extensive powers in any country in the world. On the other hand, political analysts say that this bill has been decided to be introduced just before the Haryana, Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections to be held in October.
