Imran Khan News: Bushra Bibi, wife of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, has been sentenced to 14 years in jail. This action has been taken against the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief in the Toshakhana case. This has been confirmed in the report of the news channel “Geo News” on Wednesday (January 31, 2024) morning.
Along with this, the court has barred both of them from being reinstated on any public post for 10 years. The court has also imposed a collective fine of Rs 78.7 crore on them. Bushra Bibi did not appear in the court today. Just a day before, Imran Khan was sentenced to 10 years in prison for passing on confidential documents of the country to others. After this, this punishment of another court is a double blow for him.

Ex-husband had filed a case
Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan On November 25, 2023, Khawar Farid Maneka, the ex-husband of his wife, had filed allegations against both of them of adultery and fraudulent marriage. The case against 71-year-old Khan and 49-year-old Bushra Bibi under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code was going on in the court of Senior Civil Judge Qudratullah, Islamabad East, where the sentence was pronounced.
Imran Khan accused of ruining married life
During the hearing of the case, the ex-husband of the wife of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan reiterated his claim in his statement during the hearing that Khan had ruined his married life. During the trial, notices were issued to Istiqham-e-Pakistan party member Awan Choudhary, marriage organizer Mufti Muhammad Saeed and Maneka’s house employee Latif and their statements were also recorded. These allegations were strongly criticized by the leaders of Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party.
Imran Khan used to visit Bushra’s house in her absence
In the complaint, Maneka had urged the court to give strict punishment to Khan and Bushra as per law in the interest of justice. He said that PTI chief Imran Khan often visited his house for hours in his absence under the guise of spiritual healing, which was not only undesirable but also immoral.
Divorced in 2017
Bushra’s ex-husband told that Khan used to call Bushra late at night, Bushra was also given separate contact numbers and mobile phones for conversation. Maneka said that she had divorced Bushra on November 14, 2017. He said, ‘A heinous crime of adultery has been committed. A wedding drama was staged on January 1, 2018. Let us tell you that on this date Imran Khan married Bushra.
