Four workers have been dismissed from the party in connection with the beating of BJP MLA Yogesh Verma from Lakhimpur Sadar. These include outgoing president of Lakhimpur Urban Cooperative Bank Pushpa Singh, her husband and active party member Awadhesh Singh, district vice president Anil Yadav and former co-convenor of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Jyoti Shukla. Awadhesh Singh is also the President of District Advocates Association.
On Monday, MLA Yogesh Verma met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana and informed them about the entire incident. According to the MLA, on the instructions of the Chief Minister, the party’s State General Secretary Govind Narayan Shukla issued a letter regarding action against the accused.
