Another big revelation has been made in the case of Rs 120 crore being embezzled from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). The documents related to FD rates that the fraudster, posing as a bank manager, had given in the meeting at AKTU were correct. The signature on that document was of the bank’s Regional Manager (RM). From this, it can be guessed how much influence the fraudster had in the bank. The role of many officers and employees of the bank is suspicious.
The police have sent six accused to jail in the fraud case. These include Devendra Prasad Joshi, Uday Patel, Rajesh Babu, Girish Chandra, Shailesh Kumar Raghuvanshi, Dastagir Alam and Krishnakant. The main accused Anurag Srivastava and his partner Kapil are still at large. An important fact has come to light in the case. Actually, on June 5, the FD-related process was done in the AKTU campus. Eight banks had participated in it. The accused Anurag Srivastava had participated in it by introducing himself as Anuj Kumar Saxena, the manager of the Bapu Bhavan branch of Union Bank. The highest interest rate on FD was mentioned in his documents. Therefore, AKTU had struck a deal with him to get an FD of Rs 120 crore. According to AKTU sources, the FD-related documents given by Anurag were correct. The bank’s regional manager Vijay Dwivedi has signed it.

At the same time, getting the bank’s documents proves that Anurag has a deep penetration in the bank. There is someone who kept helping him. Along with giving information, he also provided documents. According to the information, the accused Shailesh Kumar Raghuvanshi who has been sent to jail has already been in contact with the manager. It is suspected that some other employees and officers have been in direct contact with him. Taking advantage of which, the fraud was carried out.
The fraud was executed in just four days
The fraud was planned about a month ago. On June 3, Shailesh called the bank manager and asked for information regarding the FD. He went to the bank the same evening. On June 4, a fake account was opened in the name of AKTU. On June 5, Anurag attended a meeting at AKTU as a fake bank manager. The next day, the money was sent by AKTU. A few hours later, this money was transferred to the fake account of AKTU and from there to the trust’s account.
