Ganapath Review: Tiger Shroff-Kriti Sanon were good, but the story could not connect, know how the film is

Ganapath Movie Review: After ‘Heropanti’, Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon have come together once again through ‘Ganpat’. Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon has become a National Award winning actress, while Tiger has probably learned a lot by being a ‘student’ in the acting school. Expectations from ‘Ganpat’ also increase because director Vikas Bahl, who has made great films like ‘Queen’, ‘Chillar Party’ and ‘Super 30’, has taken charge of the direction of this film. See, Tiger Shroff is there, so it is certain that there will be an overdose of action in the film. But has this film been able to do anything for actors like Kriti Sanon, Amitabh Bachchan? Will this film also be sold to you by saying, ‘If you go keeping your mind at home, you will enjoy…’? Let me tell you how this film is.

what does the story say
First of all, understand what is the story of this film. This film of Vikas Bahl is a dystopian action film, which brings the story of an imaginary time on screen. In this film, this is the imaginary time of the world ruined after the war. The story starts with Dalpati (Amitabh Bachchan). The world, which was completely destroyed after the war, has been divided into two parts. One is the world of the rich i.e. ‘Silver City’, where there is no place for the poor. Unlike the world of the rich, these poor people fight among themselves for every necessary thing. But Dalpati gives them a place to fight, which is the boxing ring. But Dalini of Silver City sees business even in this condition of the poor and takes them to Silver City. He earns money by betting on boxing. Guddu (Tiger Shroff) will work to bridge the gap between Silver City and this world of the poor, who later becomes ‘Ganpat’. Jassi (Kriti Sanon) fully supports him in this entire work.

Chinese in India’s story
Many dystopian-style Indian stories have come to the web series level, like Netflix’s web series ‘Laila’ and Arshad Warsi starrer web series ‘Asur’ have shown such a future world. But this attempt on the film screen is new. This film should be praised for this effort. However, its treatment has not been done in the fun or good way that it could have been. Many things in the story are confusing. Vikas Bahl has shown the story of an imaginary world through this dystopian film, but these imaginations could have been a little better.

The first condition of dystopian cinema is that you convince the audience that the world you are showing is true and logical, only then will your story be believed. ‘Ganpat’ seems to be trying this. Vikas is a great director from whom a great film was expected. Ganpat’s efforts continue in the first half, but in the second half it seems he too has been swept away by Tiger’s action style. Second, everything in this story is like a chess game, black or white. Rich means very bad, poor means very good. In such a situation, there are no layers to the story. Although the interval has a nice twist, it was not handled in the second half.

The film ‘Ganpat: A Hero is Born’ has been released on 20 October.

The story and treatment of the film is its biggest weak link. At the same time, the acting of stars like Kriti Sanon and Amitabh Bachchan makes it worth watching for some time. Some action sequences of Tiger are quite good. Tiger has tried well in acting also. However, he still needs to do more work in this department. This is because now Shahrukh Khan and Aditya Roy Kapur are also doing action. So how long will the action last? The problem is that the audience has slowly started trusting Bollywood again and the credit for that goes to films like ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘OMG 2’ and ‘Jawaan’. But how will it fare when we just offer action chutney in the name of ‘Masala Entertainment’? Chutney can enhance the taste of any food, but it cannot be a complete meal. Similarly, a film cannot be sold just by being action-action when its real soul i.e. the story is so weak.

I have already mentioned about acting. Kriti has recently won the National Award and now how can Amitabh Bachchan be judged for his acting? Talking about Tiger, his Mumbai Tapori style was fine, but now he should do something new. However, we should not shy away from saying that Tiger has been excellent in action. The music of the film is good. There are foot tapping numbers, we can talk about background music. This film is 2 stars from my side.
