Ganesh Chaturthi 2024: Ganesh Chaturthi festival will be celebrated on the Chaturthi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month i.e. on 7th September 2024. Bappa will be installed in the auspicious time across the country on this day. It is believed that the idol should be installed in the auspicious time and before sunset, this ensures that the blessings of Gauri Putra Gajanan remain on the family.

There are 3 auspicious times for the installation of Bappa on Ganesh Chaturthi. The Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadon month will start on 6th September at 03.01 pm and will last till 05.37 pm on 7th September 2024.

This is the most auspicious time for idol installation
According to Ganesha Purana, Ganpati was born on Chaturthi Tithi and Chitra Nakshatra during midday, i.e. the second half of the day. On September 7, this auspicious period is starting from 11.20 am.
Ganesh Chaturthi Puja Samagri
Clay idol of Ganeshji, kumkum, turmeric, whole rice, betel nut, vermilion, gulal, cloves, sacred thread, red coloured cloth, puja pedestal, yellow cloth to be spread on the pedestal, durva, camphor, Panchameva, lamp, incense, Panchamrit, mauli, fruits, Ganga water, urn, fruits, coconut, sandalwood, banana, flower garland, mango leaves, Ashtagandha.
Method of Installation on Ganesh Chaturthi (Ganesh Chaturthi Sthapana Vidhi)
- On Ganesh Chaturthi, wear washed clothes after taking a bath before sunrise. Clean the place where the idol is to be installed and take a vow to observe the fast
- In the auspicious time, spread a yellow cloth on the puja platform and put rice on it. Place the Kalash on the right side of the platform. The gods and goddesses of the universe reside in the Kalash.
- Now install the idol of Ganeshji on the stand.
- Sprinkle some water and Panchamrit on the idol using a mango leaf. Now make them wear the sacred thread. Offer all the puja materials.
- Offer Modak and Laddoo as Prasad. Recite Ganesh Chalisa, Ganesh Stotra and perform Aarti by lighting incense sticks and lamps. Similarly, perform Aarti in the evening as well.
Ganesh ji’s favorite flowers (Ganesh ji flower) – Mallika, Jati, Rose, Champa, Marigold, Lotus and Oleander flowers are favourite flowers. Offer these.
