Mohit Sharma/Karauli. The prices of garlic, which broke the back of common man due to its expensive prices last year, have not reduced till now. Its new produce has also started arriving in the markets, yet till now the prices of garlic have remained the same. The high prices of garlic have ruined the taste of the kitchen since last one year. The common man has even forgotten to eat garlic due to its expensive price. If we talk about its current price, till now its price in Karauli, Rajasthan has remained only up to ₹ 400 per kg. But, these days a mobile shop has come to Karauli from Ajmer which for the last two-three days is providing garlic to the people for just ₹ 200 kg which was available for ₹ 400 kg in the city markets.
Due to the sale of garlic at half price, wherever this mobile shop is reaching, there is a huge crowd of buyers. Somewhere this vehicle is proving helpful in providing the taste of cheap garlic to the people. Rameshwar Vyas, who came to buy garlic, said that the reason for its cheapness is that it is freshly plucked wet garlic and because it is still green, its weight is more. After drying, this garlic will reduce to half its weight. For this reason, this garlic is available in the markets at half the price.
That’s why it’s cheaper
On the other hand, Hari Singh, who came to buy this garlic, told that this garlic is very good in quality. Since it is a Taj, its prices are definitely half. Therefore, by buying this, common people like us are definitely getting relief in price. In Karauli, traders from Ajmer are selling this garlic through pickup at the main intersections of the city. Those traders told that this garlic is from Madhya Pradesh. Which these traders are bringing from Muhana Mandi of Jaipur and selling here at cheap prices. Traders say that this is local small sized garlic. Therefore, this garlic is available cheaper from Jaipur market and we are also selling it at the price of ₹ 200 per kg.
