If the soul has done good deeds during its lifetime, then it gets the full fruit of Pinddaan and leaves the worldly attachment and moves towards its next journey.

But if the deceased had done bad deeds during his lifetime, then he will not get the full result of the pinddaan done. Yamdoots do not give body to the soul. Due to this, the soul has to move forward in its journey with many difficulties. The distance of this journey is 86 thousand yojanas, which takes 47 days to complete. Talking about the next birth of the soul, it is said that it takes three days to 40 days for the soul to take another birth.

Who can do pinddaan

It has been said in Garuda Purana that the pinddaan of the deceased should be done by his son only. If there is no son, then the brother of the deceased or other family members can also perform Pindadana. If there is no heir, the pind daan can be done by the great grandson. Tell that, Pinddaan is not only done for the father but also for all the dead relatives and ancestors of the family and clan.
