733 parliament members voted for the trust vote
A total of 733 parliament members cast their votes during the confidence vote session in the German Parliament. Out of these, only 207 members voted in favor of the Scholz government. Whereas a total of 394 votes were cast against it. This proposal in the German Parliament comes after the collapse of Chancellor Scholz’s three-party coalition last month.
It is noteworthy that Chancellor Olaf Scholz had dismissed former Finance Minister Christian Lindner in November due to disagreements over budget and economic policies. After the election of this option, Scholz’s Social Democrats (SPD) and the Greens were reduced to a minority in Parliament. This political crisis has arisen in front of Germany at a time when the country is already facing economic and infrastructure related challenges.
