On Tuesday, a three and a half year old girl went into the pond while playing in Hukumpur village of Ajitmal Kotwali area in Auraiya district. The family members kept searching for him the whole day, but could not find him. In the evening, the dead body of an innocent child was found floating on the banks of the pond.
Manoj Kumar, son of Atar Singh, resident of village Hukumpur Dera of the area, does the work of ferrying. His mother Omwati and wife Sharda and three children Rishi (5), Riya of three and a half years and a six month old daughter live at home. On Tuesday, while playing outside the house during the day, his daughter Riya somehow went into the pond outside the house.
Due to this, the family members kept searching for him the whole day, but he was not found anywhere. Then the family informed the police but late in the evening Riya’s body was found on the banks of the pond. Chaos erupted in the house. The family members were in bad condition with tears in their eyes. When Safar Chowki police reached the spot and wanted to take action, the family members refused to take any action.
Dilip Kumar, son of Pratap Singh, uncle of the deceased innocent child, gave a written application to the police and informed them about Riya’s death after falling into the pond. Saying that no action should be taken, the body was immersed in water. Area officer Ram Mohan Sharma said that the girl died after falling into the pond. The family members have refused to take any action.
