Agra’s Etmaddaula police has arrested five robbers including a minor member of the bikers gang. Five mobile phones and one motorcycle have been recovered from their possession. Two of these accused used to rob on Valentine’s Day to gift a mobile phone to their girlfriend, one to get their father treated and the rest to pay the bike installment.
Etmaddaula police station in-charge inspector Durgesh Kumar Mishra said that the police team arrested Jitesh, resident of Jain temple street of Nunihai, Dev Prajapati, resident of Narayach and a minor, who were standing near the Torrent office on Thursday night to rob the mobile phone. Kunal and Vivek, residents of Trans Yamuna Colony, who looted his body and sold it in the market, were also arrested. The police are now trying to identify the shopkeepers who bought the looted goods.
This is how the incident was carried out
Both Dev and Jitesh used to ride bikes according to the area. The minor friend used to sit behind. As soon as it was evening, all three would set out on the deserted roads. While talking on mobile on the way, they would loot anyone they found and run away. Nabilak sitting behind used to do the work of snatching the mobile from the hand. Due to lack of number plate on the bike, they could not be caught.
That’s why they became robbers
During interrogation, the accused told that they have been carrying out incidents of robbery for the last six months. Two accused told that the girlfriend was demanding a mobile. Due to lack of money, I had to feel embarrassed in front of him many times. Six months ago I promised that I would gift a nice mobile phone on Valentine’s Day. After this, they started looting to fulfill their wish.
There was no money for father’s treatment
After this he met another friend. He did not have money to get his father treated. For this reason he was also included in the team. After this, problems started arising in selling the looted mobiles. During this time all three of them met Kunal and Vivek. He needed money every month to pay the installment of the bike. They started selling the looted mobile phones to passers-by and shopkeepers on the pretext of helplessness.
