The results of the Gujarat assembly elections are out. This time the Bharatiya Janata Party has created a new record. In Gujarat, which has 182 assembly seats, 156 BJP candidates won the elections. The Congress suffered the most. The Congress came straight down to 17 from 77 seats. Means Congress had to bear the loss of 60 seats. At the same time, this time only five candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party, which claimed to form the government, could win the elections. The SP candidate won one seat, while the remaining three seats were won by independent candidates.

The BJP had fielded three-time MLA CK Raulji on the Godhra assembly seat in Panchmahal district. In front of him was Rashmitaben Chauhan of Congress. CK Raulji of BJP defeated Rashmitaben Chauhan of INC by 35,198 votes. The BJP candidate got 96,223 votes while the Congress candidate got 61,025 votes. BJP had given ticket to sitting MLA CK Raulji from Godhra seat. Roulji registered his fourth consecutive win here. Out of these, he has won twice on BJP and twice on Congress ticket. CK Raulji has so far won this seat seven times from three different parties.

AAP-AIMIM candidate’s deposit forfeited
AAP came third in this election, its candidate Rajeshbhai Patel got 11,200 votes, which was 6.35 percent of the total votes. Means, your bail has been forfeited here. Apart from this, the deposits of seven other candidates including AIMIM candidate Hasan Shabbir Kachba were also forfeited. Whereas, NOTA got 3548 votes here.

BJP got victory in 2017
The BJP had won the Godhra assembly seat in the 2017 assembly elections. BJP’s CK Raulji defeated Rajendrasinh Parmar of Congress. CK Raulji has so far won this seat seven times from three different parties. In 1990, CK Raulji won for the first time on a Janata Dal ticket. However, he resigned from the Legislature only after a year. In the by-election held after his resignation, Raulji won on a BJP ticket. Raulji again won the 1995 elections on a BJP ticket. Rajendrasinh Patel of Janata Dal won from here in 1998 and Haresh Kumar Bhatt of BJP won in 2002 elections.
CK Raulji won again in the assembly elections held in 2007 and 2012. Both times he won on Congress ticket. In 2017, once again Raulji was successful in winning on a BJP ticket.
