Even before the beginning of Navratri and Manglik events, the price of gold has registered a record increase. In Bareilly on Saturday, gold rose by Rs 500 to Rs 70,300 per 10 grams. At the same time, silver was sold at Rs 78,200 per kg.
According to Bareilly Bullion Association, on December 28 last year, gold was sold at Rs 63,100 per ten grams. On the same day, silver was Rs 75,800 per kg. By January 30, gold rose by Rs 700 to Rs 63,800. Silver remained at Rs 73,200.
Even in February, the price of gold was fluctuating at Rs 200. Same was the situation with silver. Prices kept rising daily since the beginning of March. On March 7, gold was sold at the rate of Rs 65,100 per ten grams. On March 30, it stood at Rs 67,400.
According to Sudesh Aggarwal, General Secretary of Bareilly Bullion Association, now the effect of increasing prices is visible on purchases. People are arriving for shopping only on auspicious occasions. After Navratri, there is a possibility of good sale of jewelery only on Akshaya Tritiya falling in May.
