Northeast Railway Public Relations Officer Pankaj Kumar Singh said that due to the accident of 15904 Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express on the down line between Motiganj-Jhilahi station on Barabanki-Gorakhpur railway section, relief medical vehicle from Gonda has reached the spot.

Relief and rescue work is being done on a war footing. Helpline numbers have been issued by the railways for the help and other information of railway passengers. Due to the accident, all the trains coming and going on this route have been diverted. Trains will be sent from Lucknow via Ayodhya to Gorakhpur.

The following trains running on this section have been diverted:

– 15707 Katihar-Amritsar Express has been diverted and is running via Mankapur-Ayodhya-Barabanki.

– 15653 Guwahati-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express has been diverted and is running via Mankapur-Ayodhya-Barabanki.
